The Valiant Grapes Brigade

The Valiant Grapes Brigade | Asset ID: 728732950

Freshly minted! This artwork was created for the Grocery Store Game as part of my ongoing contribution to their character lore and for an auction to commemorate the celebration of the new game item, Valiant Grapes.

Story: The Valiant Grapes were unknown to most at first, this was due to their unrelenting dedication to service, however, even the most dedicated soldiers come home occasionally and so our story begins. The Valiant Grapes proudly led their squadron of troops back to town, choosing to march instead of using a transport, and arrived to an awaiting hero’s welcome. Never had anyone at the Grocery Store seen such a celebration, it was a rare event that would be remembered for years to come, and thus the PAV Drop Value was determined for placing them into service.

Lemon’s Spring Fling

Lemon’s Spring Fling | Asset ID: 718794302

Lemon hadn’t committed any acts of arson for some time, and the Grocery Store Game shoppers gradually relaxed their guard. Unfortunately, Lemon was waiting for just such an opportunity, and as soon as a particular shoppers guard was fully down Lemon pounced, lighter in hand. A great day for Lemon, but a sad day for yet another of Lemon’s victims.

New Marketplace – New Project

Nature’s Magic #1

I was recently accepted to Dartroom and decided to devote a fresh project to it. I must say the minting tools available are very nice and the entire process went smoothly. I typically mint long-hand using AlgoDesk, so letting someone else do the heavy lifting was new to me. This body of work is digital art minted in editions of 10 and sold at an affordable price. Owners have full personal usage rights, without limitations.

Project Statement: Nature has a magic that can not be seen with the naked eye, it is felt and experienced. In this body of work I am attempting to visualize the magical energy I feel in certain natural spaces I encounter on my explorations.

Hiatus + Recharge

Just a quick update as it has been several weeks since my last post. I am currently recovering from an injury and am on a forced hiatus from creating new work. I am using the time to expand my illustrated short story series, “Explorers” – which will be my first drop upon my return, hopefully by the end of April. In the meantime, you can still find existing work, including physically backed NFTs, on Rand Gallery.

Physically-Backed NFT Drop

Equivalent in Blue #02

I was very pleased with the response to the fractional-physically-backed NFT I dropped In response to the reception of Equivalent in Blue 01 I am now releasing the second original NFT from my first drop as a special cyanotype print. This physically-backed work is sold as a fractional NFT, if one collector holds all 9 NFTs they may redeem it for the physical print at any time (details in the rights statement on my website and in the associated file). All 9 copies will drop on my AB2 Gallery page tomorrow!

Usage Rights: Owners of the NFTs have full legal ownership of the associated physical print, and may request it be sent to them at any time by redeeming all 9 NFTs to the creator at one time. Until such time that the NFTs are redeemed for the associated print, the print will be considered ‘on loan’ to the artist. Usage rights for both the NFTs and the physical print include all personal use, including reproduction of the image in other formats, and exhibition of the image in public settings. No commercial rights are included with these NFTs and the owner(s) may not directly profit off the associated intellectual property, however, they are welcome to collect, resell, or trade the NFTs in lieu of redeeming it for the physical print and may directly profit in doing so.

Walkabouts in Blue – Portfolio Update

The drop is coming this weekend, Saturday 2/12/22! The marketplace is still being determined, but will be shared here first. Here are some additional details about the project, process, and how the physically backed NFT will function:

Project Statement: I walkabout with my camera in tow, typically off the beaten path, and frequently during the early hours of the day. My eye is attracted to the often overlooked and neglected, the scenes that many people look right through or just avoid looking at altogether. When the light and the scene combine to express a story I connect with, I capture it, and quickly move on. Many of my subjects may be considered unkempt, littered, or vandalized, but there is a beauty and poetry to these scenes that is fascinating to me. This project will be dropped in groups of 10 as portfolios are completed and printed.

Process Statement: The photographs in this portfolio were captured digitally and printed with the cyanotype process using digital inkjet negatives. I enjoy bridging history with technology, so being able to do a series of cyanotype prints from the 19th century, that uses digital image capture technology that first emerged in the 20th century, and is being minted and sold on a network that is a new technology in the 21st century was just too appealing for me not to create. All of the photographic work is unique and was created by me over the past few months. I also hand mixed the chemistry, coated the paper, produced the digital negatives, and exposed and processed all prints myself. The images are printed on 9×12” Stonehenge Aqua, 140lb, printed image area is approximately 6×9”. Each print is a unique one of a kind object due to the nature of hand-coating emulsion using the method I employ (brush-defined edges).

Rights Statement: Owners of the NFT have full legal ownership of the associated physical print, and may request it be sent to them at any time by redeeming the NFT to the creator. Until such time that the NFT is redeemed for the associated print, the print will be considered ‘on loan’ to the artist. Usage rights for both the NFT and the physical print include all personal use, including reproduction of the image in other formats, and exhibition of the image in public settings. No commercial rights are included with this NFT and the owner may not directly profit off the associated intellectual property, however, they are welcome to collect, resell, or trade the NFT in lieu of redeeming it for the physical print and may directly profit in doing so.

Marketplace details and mint price will be announced here this Wednesday – stay tuned.
